Van der Vaart suffers more hamstring woe while playing for Holland

Rafael van der Vaart could be set for another spell on the sidelines after he limped out of a friendly between the Netherlands and Switzerland with a hamstring problem.

AS IF TOTTENHAM manager Harry Redknapp didn’t have enough to be concerned about, he has now learned that Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart suffered a recurrence of his hamstring problem in Holland’s clash with Switzerland.

The playmaker has already been out for two spells for the North London side this season and had to be taken off during the scoreless draw.

Van der Vaart will definitely miss the friendly against Germany next week and Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk says he has no idea about the severity of the problem.

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Barclay’s Premier League thanks to the goals of top scorer van der Vaart, and face Aston Villa on Monday week at White Hart Lane.

Redknapp is unlikely to be in attendance at that match as he continues his recovery from a recent heart procedure.
