Bolt lead Jamaica to victory in a time of 37.36 seconds.

USAIN BOLT HAS won his third gold medal of the 2015 World Athletics Championships by leading to Jamaica to victory in the men’s 4X100 metre relay in a time of 37.36 seconds.

The team of Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell, Nickel Asheade and Bolt looked to be under some pressure from the Americans but were handed the victory when US duo Tyson Gay and Mike Rodgers made an absolute mess of their transition.

The American foursome of Trayvon Bromell, Justin Gatlin, Gay and Rodgers looked to be set for at least a silver medal but, upon review, they were disqualified when their mix-up was deemed illegal.

Great Britain suffered similar misfortune. They were in the top three or four heading into the last change when James Ellington failed to get the baton to CJ Ujah for the final leg.

This allowed the Chinese to take second place, to the delight of the home crowd, with the Canadians picking up a bronze.
