Antrim put seven goals past Down to clinch Ulster U21 hurling title

It’s a sixth provincial title in a row for the Glensmen after their win at the Athletics Ground this evening.

ANTRIM HAVE BEEN crowned Ulster U21 hurling champions yet again after a a thoroughly-convincing victory over Down at the Athletics Ground tonight.

Down opened the scoring with the first two points of the evening but then had to wait until the second half to add a third as Antrim took control — going 1-7 to 0-2 at the break.

Keith Ryan men’s were completely dominant from there on, and added six more goals through Niall McKenna, Saul McCaughan, Connor Burke and Ciaran Clarke.

The victory means Antrim, who lost out to Clare in the All-Ireland U21 final in 2013, win the Ulster title for the sixth consecutive year.

They progress to face Cork or Clare in the All-Ireland semi-final.
