Jared Payne will make his first appearance since the World Cup tomorrow

The fullback starts for Ulster’s visit to Saracens.

JAYED PAYNE WILL make his first appearance of the season in Ulster’s crunch Champions Cup clash against Saracens at Allianz Park tomorrow.

The Ireland international has been sidelined since sustaining a foot injury during September’s World Cup but has finally recovered to return to action.

He will start at fullback for the province as Les Kiss’ side look to enhance their chances of qualifying from Pool 1.

Payne’s return sees a reshuffle in the backline with Craig Gilroy moving back to the wing and Andrew Trimble operating on the opposite side.

Stuart McCloskey and Luke Marshall continue their impressive partnership in midfield, while Ruan Pienaar and Paddy Jackson occupy the halfback positions.

In the pack, Wiehahn Herbst has recovered from a calf strain but Chris Henry has been ruled out with a shoulder complaint and Nick Williams is also sidelined.

Ulster currently sit second in Pool 1 but lie six points behind tomorrow’s opponents. Victory in London would be a significant boost to the northern province’s chances of advancing to the knock-out stages.

Meanwhile, Saracens have named their side with no fewer than seven players included in England’s extended Six Nations panel set to start.

Kick-off is at 3.15pm and the game is live on BT Sport.
