NORMAN PARKE’S LIGHTWEIGHT bout against Reza Madadi almost got underway at this afternoon’s weigh-ins in Dublin.

Having been involved in a war of words in recent weeks, the pair are scheduled to meet tomorrow night at UFC Fight Night 76 at the 3Arena.

After both fighters stepped on the scales today, Parke produced a pink handbag which he threw in Madadi’s direction. The pair then had to be kept apart by UFC president Dana White.

Parke’s gesture was a nod to the fact that Madadi is fighting this weekend for the first time since spending 14 months in prison for his role in a robbery at a handbag store.

All 20 fighters made weight this afternoon, including flyweight headliners Paddy Holohan and Louis Smolka.
