AHEAD OF SATURDAY’S clash with Dustin Poirier at UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Joseph Duffy has made his debut appearance in the organisation’s popular Embedded series.

The latest episode features the Irish fighter preparing for the biggest bout of his career so far, in which a win would catapult him into the UFC lightweight rankings.

Joseph’s parents, Joe and Teresa, have made the long journey from Donegal for the occasion: “My family, they come to all the fights. They’re as good as gold.”

The Embedded series is normally the preserve of the fighters featuring in the main and co-main event — in this case, Robbie Lawler, Carlos Condit, Stipe Miocic and Andrei Arlovski — so the fact that Duffy and Poirier have been included is an indication of the importance of their meeting, which has been allocated to the prelims by the UFC as a means of promoting the subscription sales of their Fight Pass online broadcast platform.
