UEFA HAVE CHARGED Liverpool over supporters chanting “Manchester is full of sh*t” during the Europa League clash at Manchester United, but songs referencing the tragedies both clubs have endured are ignored.
Songs about the Hillsborough and Heysel disasters were clearly audible during the two-legged last-16 encounter, while footage mocking the Munich air crash also emerged.
Liverpool and United fans were widely condemned for their behaviour, however, it has not featured on Uefa’s report regarding ‘illicit chanting’.

Only Liverpool received a citation under that charge, with delegate Jean Paul Mievis highlighting the “Manchester is full of sh*t” chorus heard at Old Trafford.
The failure to address the more serious and unacceptable shouts from the stands has again raised questions over what constitutes ‘illicit chanting’.
Manchester City fans were charged for jeering the Champions League anthem earlier in the season, though the case was later dropped after widespread criticism.
Liverpool have also been taken to task over fans setting off fireworks, the throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and the late kick off of the second half at Old Trafford.
United’s charges consist of blocking stairways, crowd disturbances and objects thrown.
Representatives of both teams are currently providing their observations to the governing body, who are still investigating other incidents.
Submissions will be heard by Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body on 19 May — a day after the Europa League final in Basel.
