IT APPEARS THAT the phrase ‘parking the bus’ has become so ingrained within football’s lexicon that drivers have forgotten how to complete the task. Treviso are playing Leinster at the RDS tonight, needing everything to go right if they are to upset the hosts.
So their driving plowing into the gate on the way in DEFINITELY wasn’t the best preparation. Luckily, The42′s rugby correspondent/road safety watchdog Murray Kinsella was on hand to snap a picture.
The players had to walk the remaining 100 metres into the changing rooms, so if they begin to tire late on, we’ll know why.

Still though, it is a long way from the sort of bus crashes that Harchester United used to routinely experience. Surely not the same driver?
Maybe he can swap jobs with Matt O Connor.
Unfair, He’s had to make do without Nacewa, O’Driscoll, Cullen, Rob Kearney and Sexton, as well as not having O’Brien and Ruddock for the bulk of the season, never mind losing D’arcy and Jennings next year. Those are the leaders for the Leinster team that won everything there was to win.
When You combine that with the fact that the guy currently captaining the team has no record of success as a captain it becomes even worse. The fact alone that Sexton and Nacewa* are coming back is something He should be lauded for.
*Nacewa hasn’t played since 2013, and Crossfit is not the same as playing professional rugby and training week in week out.
Can any of the Cro magnons that Red-thumbed that comment point out where I said something that wasn’t actually true?
Of course You can’t.
Is your dad called Philip by any chance?
I’m waiting for a correction Jimbo.
I tend to agree with Eoghan here, there’s no way this coach or possibly any coach could have maintained the standards of Schmidty & the vast amount of talent he had at his disposal, a lot of which is gone now.
That being said, it has been a poor season with underhanded performances and we need to get back on the horse next season and get more accustomed to life without all those great players. Hopefully Johnny’s return will spearhead that.
Real supporters like me will continue to support them anyway instead of bitching about them when the hey day is over.
Who’s not supporting Jimmy? 7-0 at home against a team of Trevisos quality is hardly brilliant when you’ve one of the deepest squads in Europe and have rolled out the same game plan for the whole season.I agree J Sexton will improve standards he will not tolerate the current passionless going through the motions.
James, there’s been too much bitching with a lack of perspective, the latter I think was Eoghan’s point. Fed up of hearing it. Time to move on to next season now.
But my insinuating that people are not supporting is a bit strong I s’pose, so I’ll retract on that.
The better team is losing here sadly. The quins vs bath game is a cracker though
Shut your beak Will
Dude, what has he ever done to you? Have some class.
Shut your beak Conor! What has he ever done FOR me?
“Luckily, The42′s rugby correspondent/road safety watchdog Murray Kinsella was on hand to snap a picture.”
Thank the Lord that Murray was on site armed with camera. My life would be incomplete without this pic of a bus with a scrape on the paintwork.
GET A LIFE!!
