'Why on earth would any year be a good year to retire?'

New documentary looks at the final year of AP McCoy’s record-breaking career.

“EVERY PART OF my life was structured and controlled, but I could never control getting old.”

They’re the final words of Tony McCoy in the trailer for ‘Being AP’ a new documentary based on the final year of the champion jockey’s life in the saddle.

What drove McCoy to continue to preform at the highest level for two decades is something that has fascinated punters and fair-weather racing fans alike over the last number of years and this documentary looks like it will provide some of the answers.

We also see how much he struggled with taking the decision and how frustrated he became when injury prevented him from working.

The documentary will air as part of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
