Novel idea -- Tony McCoy to write racing fiction

It’s “something very different,” McCoy said. Indeed.

TONY MCCOY HAS been involved in his fair share of racing thrillers but now the champion jump jockey is ready for a new challenge — by writing a novel.

McCoy, who penned his autobiography in 2011, is turning his hand to fiction and hopes to publish his first book later this year.

The plans were announced yesterday by Orion Publishing who have bought the rights to the project. McCoy’s book, which will be set “in the exciting and competitive world of horse racing”, is expected to hit the shelves in November.

The project is “something very different,” the Antrim rider, 38, said. “But I’m up for the challenge and looking forward to getting started!”
