Tommy Bowe out for up to six weeks after surgery on wrist injury

Surgery on the Monaghan man’s injury is said to have ‘went well’.

ULSTER RUGBY SAY star winger Tommy Bowe is facing four to six weeks on the sidelines.

The Ireland man sustained the injury during the British and Irish Lions’ successful tour of Australia this summer.

Bowe underwent an exploratory operation on Wednesday, which provincial chiefs says went well.

The injury almost cost Bowe his spot on the Tour to Australia before he made a near-miraculous recovery to feature in the final two Tests.

Ulster get their Heineken Cup campaign up and running against Leicester Tigers on 11 October.
