TOM CRIBBIN’S APPOINTMENT as the Westmeath senior football manager was rubberstamped by the county board on Tuesday evening.
The Clane man takes charge for a three-year term following a long saga which saw delegates reject the re-appointment of the incumbent Paul Bealin and then his recommended replacement, Peter Leahy.

All of the senior football management positions for 2015 have now been filled.
Cribbin’s CV includes a spell as Laois manager in 1999/2000 as well as three seasons as Offaly boss from 2009 to 2011.
He previously managed the minor footballers in his native Kildare and took charge of the county’s U21s this season.
