Champions Loughmore to face Clonoulty as Tipperary SHC quarter final draw is made

The eight first round ties took place in the Premier County this weekend.

REIGNING CHAMPIONS LOUGHMORE-Castleiney will face Clonoulty-Rossmore after the draw was made today for the quarter-finals of the Tipperary senior hurling championship after the completion of the first round action this weekend.

Loughmore-Castleiney cruised to a 26-point win over Ballina today while Clonoulty-Rossmore, beaten county finalists in 2010 and 2011, got the better of West Tipperary rivals Éire Óg Annacarty yesterday.

Last year’s beaten finalists Nenagh Éire Óg will meet Thurles Sarsfields, champions in 2009, 2010 and 2012, at the last eight stage after both teams won their respective ties today. Nenagh had six points to spare over Kilruane McDonaghs while Thurles Sarsfields saw off 2011 champions Drom-Inch in a thrilling clash by three points.

The remainder of the quarter-final draw see North Tipperary sides Burgess and Templederry face off while Mullinahone will take on Kildangan.
