There were three big games taking place across the county in Tipperary today.

THE TIPPERARY HURLERS haven’t had much time to lick their wounds after their All-Ireland defeat to Kilkenny.

The divisional county finals took place today with a host of Eamon O’Shea’s stars in action including Seamus Callanan, James Barry and Eoin Kelly.

While yesterday TheScore.ie learnt that Noel McGrath had to be treated for “exhaustion” during a late stoppage in Loughmore-Castleiney’s SFC victory over Toomevara.

His club chairman explained that he “went to his knees because he had given every last ounce. It’s been no time since the All-Ireland final.”

In today’s first game Mullinahone overcame Killenaule in a low scoring affair.

While a late rally from John ‘Bubbles’ O’Dwyer’s team did reduce the losing margin to just three points, with just thirteen minutes remaining they trailed by 0-6 to 2-9.

Perhaps things could have been different if O’Dwyer wasn’t sidelined with a hand injury.

While in the later game in Cashel, Eire Og Annacarty eased past Clonoulty-Rossmore to win the West SHC final.

Although in that game there was just a point between the teams approaching the final quarter, at which point a Seanie Ryan goal and two quick points suddenly established a five point cushion from which Eire Og Annacarty would trot to victory.

Yet the game of the day was the Mid final where Seamus Callanan’s club Drom-Inch won by the slenderest of margins in a nail biting finish against James Barry’s Upperchurch-Drombane.

Within ten minutes a Callanan goal had put his team 1-4 to 0-0 ahead, although a determined opposition refused to give up, very nearly snatching the victory in the end up.
