US third-choice goalkeeper illustrates the difference between MLS and Premier League salaries

Flight mode, enabled.

EVERTON GOALKEEPER TIM Howard flew to Los Angles yesterday to join up with the rest of the US squad as they prepare for their CONCACAF playoff match against Mexico this week.

Howard, clearly flying first-class, took a picture of his surroundings and the keeper — reported to be on around €2 million per year — likes to travel in style.

His Louis Vuitton bag, Christian Louboutin runners and very fancy watch illustrates exactly how the other half live.

Not so comfortable is Real Salt Lake and US third-choice goalkeeper Nick Rimando who was also on a flight to meet up with the squad yesterday.

The 5′ 10″ goalkeeper’s response to Howard was priceless:

Don’t feel too sorry for Rimando though, according to the MLS’ own records he’s one of their better paid players earning over €300,000 a year.
