RETURNING 14-TIME major champion Tiger Woods said his comeback has been a success, despite falling out of contention at the Hero World Challenge.
Hopes of a memorable victory at Woodsโ comeback event in the Bahamas were dashed when the legendary American dropped from a share of fifth position to joint 10th, 10 shots behind leader Charley Hoffman Saturday.
There were doubts Woods would ever return to the PGA Tour due to ongoing back problems and a fourth operation but the 41-year-old made it back to his first tournament in 10 months, daring to dream following rounds of 69 and 68 at the Albany Golf Course.
Woods was unable to maintain his charge on day three following a three-over-par 75, which included five bogeys from his opening 10 holes, though arguably golfโs greatest player is pleased with his showing, regardless of the outcome.
โItโs nice to be part of the fight again โฆ getting out there and fighting against the golf course, fighting against the guys, thatโs fun,โ he said.
โI just havenโt done it a whole lot in the last few years. I liked it. I like to be able to fight out there. Unfortunately I just couldnโt get it turned around.โ
Woods added: โIโm very happy, very happy that Iโve hit the ball as well as I have, the feel of my putter, overall shaping of shots and just trying to put together a round.
โAs I told you guys at the beginning of the week, I havenโt had a scorecard in my hand in a while. So overall Iโm very happy with whatโs going on this week.
โThere were a lot of questions that I had, Iโm sure you guys have had, and I feel like Iโve come out on a good side this week.โ

Interesting move by cowboys, certainly part tactical move by Jerry Jones to gain leverage against Prescott, if talk of him holding out joining up with team until last minute before start of season to get contract sorted are true, while he would have gotten away with that and walked straight into starting spot with last yearโs backup I could see him struggle if Dalton has a full training camp and pre season.
Surprised the Patriots didnโt pick him up, especially at that price. Shrewd move by the Cowboys though, gain some leverage on Prescott.
Heโll be better than Prescott at the Cowboys given the chance, and he wont have to wear that god awful Bengals uniform anymore
@Ollie Ryan: the uniform.that looks 100 times better than the brownes uniform ?
Nah but seriously he is a fantastic back up and I agree I think he could be/have been better than Prescott
@Ollie Ryan: itโs nice to have another browns fan about. Ya I think Dalton is decent and Bengals offence and defence never helped. Great signing.
@Caoimhรญn OโCheallachรกin: I thought I was the only one
@Colm Connolly: unlike The Browns, The Bengals have all the ingredients there to make a classy uniform, but itโs an eye sore
@Colm Connolly: You do know where the Bengals got their colours from?
@Ollie Ryan: haha ya , I have to day thou for years I preferred the Bengals jerseys but that white jersey the browns have now looks pretty sharp or at least as sharp as a browns jersey can
@Ollie Ryan: im on an island here but i think the Bengals and browns have the best helmets and unis in the league
@Ollie Ryan: no Iโm just hoping baker can turn into the QB I think he can be. I like his story. See if he can overcome this adversity next!
