TIGER WOODS’ MARKETABILITY may have faded in recent years but already companies are lining-up to associate themselves with him as he makes his much-anticipated comeback.
The former world number one has today signed a multi-year deal with Bridgestone Golf to play and promote their golf balls.
After testing several prototypes from multiple big brands, Woods selected the Bridgestone Tour B330-S ball to use in tournament play as he prepares for the 2017 season.
“Finding the right golf ball is extremely important. … I’m not just here to play – I’m here to win,” Woods said in promoting the ball.
According to Bridgestone Golf, the B330-S ball “flies six yards longer and is more accurate than the leading competitors.”
For his part, Woods will be a part of multiple marketing advertisements and become an ambassador for the brand. He will continue to endorse his line clothing with Nike, which is getting out of the golf equipment business.
The partnership announcement comes after Woods said he would play in the Genesis Open in February, his second competitive tournament and first PGA Tour event since a 15-month hiatus due to injury.

It’s always important to have durable balls!
Judging by the amount of women he got through, ball durability has clearly not been an issue for him.
“I choose the best one for me”………that’s – “I choose the biggest wad of cash” in my language
The brass don’t pay for themselves!!!
tiger has plenty of money already, I think at this stage it would mean more to him to be competitive again so pick the ball he actually likes the best.
I think the guy that was in charge of Nike golf balls is now at Bridgestone.
A guy from Bridgestone told me a few years ago that Nike golf balls are manufactured by them for Nike to Nike specifications.
Great marketing move by Bridgestone
100%. The most watched golfer ever and will be again next year regardless how well he plays.
I thought he’d go with an auld commando with the fierce back spin.
To be fair there not a bad ball and are used by a good few pros
