EVEN AT 14 there were plenty of signs that Tiger Woods would become one of the best, if not the best golfer of all time.

When you meet a youngster who can drive the ball 300 yards but still considers his short game to be his strongest asset, you know you’re dealing with something special.

TransWorldSport unearthed this brilliant interview package with 14-year-old Tiger, his father Earl and some of the people that knew him best.

In it, Tiger talks openly about his strengths as a golfer, the challenges of being a young black player, and the impact that he saw himself having on the sport.

“Since I’m black it might be even bigger than Jack Nicklaus,” he says. I might be even bigger than him, to the blacks.

“I might be sort of like a Michael Jordan in basketball. Something like that.”

This is well worth a watch.
