Tierney returns, is no longer 'disillusioned'

MJ Tierney is back in the Laois football team to face Tipperary, following the controversy over his recent remarks on Twitter.

TWITTER RENEGADE MJ Tierney can reset his status to ‘illusioned’ after he was included in the Laois team to play Tipperary in this weekend’s SFC qualifier.

The Parnells corner-forward caused a storm recently when he tweeted the word ‘disillusioned,’ having been left out of the team for the defeat to Dublin.

He since defended his right to air his grievances on the social networking site in the face of criticism by former Mayo star Kevin McStay on The Sunday Game, before the whole issue blew over and the world started turning again.

Tierney has now been restored to the Laois team and will start alongside Donal Kingston. The injured Daithi Carroll makes way, as does Billy Sheehan, who may or may not have his finger poised over the ‘send’ button on his Smartphone.

Laois (SFC v Tipperary) – Eoin Culleton, Cahir Healy, Kevin Meaney, Peter O’Leary; Darren Strong, Shane Julian, Padraig McMahon; Padraig Clancy, Brendan Quigley; Colm Begley, John O’Loughlin, Niall Donoher; Ross Munnelly, Donal Kingston, Michael J Tierney.
