Reports: United line up €100 million Müller bid

Louis van Gaal is said to want to break the bank for the German.

MANCHESTER UNITED ARE set to dramatically increase their summer spending with a €100m bid for Bayern Munich striker Thomas Müller, according to German news outlet Sport1.

United manager Louis van Gaal has long been an admirer of the World Cup winner and is keen to reunite the 25-year-old with recent signing Bastian Schweinsteiger having worked with both during his time in charge of the current Bundesliga champions.

Eyebrows may be raised by the €100 million fee but it is thought United believe it is necessary to force the hand of  Bayern with the club saying they don’t want to sell the forward at any price.

Müller scored 25 goals in all competitions for Bayern last season and played crucial role in Germay’s World Cup win in 2014.
