IRISH OLYMPIAN THOMAS Barr can look forward to a long winter break after he completed his season with a sixth place finish in the 400m hurdles at the Zurich Diamond League.
Five of the eight athletes that started the Olympic final competed in the race in Switzerland, but the Waterford man couldn’t match his national best time of 47.97, with the 24-year-old coming in at 49.34.
Olympic gold medalist Kerron Clement continued his fine form by once again coming in first, followed by Puerto Rico’s Javier Culson, who was disqualified for a false start in the final in Rio.
