THE KNICKS’ PERFECT start continued with a 110-88 win over the Sixers last night, their third blow-out in three games to start the season.
The definitive play came in the fourth quarter, when back-up point guard Pablo Prigioni stole the ball, streaked toward the hoop, then dropped off a pass to JR Smith for a thundering dunk.
In typical JR fashion, he followed up his garbage-time jam by strutting into the Sixers crowd and mean-mugging at no one in particular.
JR has played great to start the season, moving the ball on offense, crashing the defensive boards, and generally suppressing the gunner instincts that make him so frustrating to watch. But this little lapse into nonsensical taunting is a gentle reminder that the old JR is still in there somewhere, for better or worse:
