This is what a stadium roof collapse looks like…

Heavy snow brings the roof in on one of the NFL’s stadiums.

SAY WHAT YOU like about the FAI blazers or the IRFU’s ticketing structure… but at least they didn’t put a roof on Lansdowne Road.

Before leaving its NFL game setup at Minneapolis’s Metrodome stadium on Saturday, the Fox TV sports crew did something different: it left a camera on to  shoot the roof.

It was, they said, already leaking and under pressure from heavy snowfall.

A 20-inch blizzard damaged a pair of panels on the roof, according to Deadspin, so the dome was intentionally deflated this morning.

The Vikings’  game against the New York Giants will now be played in Detroit – after it was put back 24 hours from Sunday.

The footage is certainly worth a watch .

Come back tomorrow for Steven O’Rourke’s NFL column to learn what happens in Motor City.
