Thierry Henry lit up New York with two magical assists last night

37-year-old Henry put on a masterclass against DC United.

ONE BRILLIANT ASSIST wasn’t enough for Thierry Henry.

The veteran striker worked his magic twice last night as the New York Red Bulls took a massive step towards the Eastern Conference finals.

Henry supplied a killer pass in each half as Bradley Wright-Phillips and Peguy Luyindula helped New York to a 2-0 first leg win against DC United.

The first was an instinctive back-heel which fooled everyone and left Wright-Phillips with a simple finish from seven yards out.

The second was the kind of pass that would make Xavi — or Keith Andrews — blush. Henry took a step into space before floating the perfect ball over the DC defence for Luyindula to run on and finish.
