The Morning Score: Wednesday

Here’s everything you need to know this morning, unless you wear sharp suits and you name’s Pep.

Every morning TheScore.ie brings you the stories you need to know before your first coffee.

1. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Well, who called that one? Chelsea booked their place in this year’s Champions League decider on a dramatic night at the Camp Nou. Fernando Torres scored a last minute equaliser as the blues earned an unlikely 2-2 draw, having played the entire second half with 10 men after John Terry’s dismissal. Afterwards, you had your say on the state of the Barcelona empire.

2. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE We’ll do it all again tonight as Bayern Munich head to Madrid with a 2-1 first-leg lead. Who do you fancy?

3. #RACING There’s another busy day in store at Punchestown today. Here’s what you need to know.

4. #LEGEND Kilkenny great DJ Carey was rushed to hospital yesterday having collapsed with a suspected heart attack yesterday morning. Gardaí confirmed that Carey became unwell in a public office and was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. He is now in a stable condition and was surrounded by family at his bedside last night. We wish him well.

5. #PREMIER LEAGUE If they weren’t already, Aston Villa are right in the relegation mix now having lost 2-1 to fellow strugglers Bolton last night. Watch out, Alex.
