The Morning Score: Wednesday

Everything you need to know before you get to work – apart from where you put that presentation.

1. #HURLING Tipperary last night named their side for Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC final with Kilkenny at Croke Park.

The big news? There is none really – Declan Ryan has named an unchanged 15 for the third game on the trot.

2. #BAD SUSHI Conor Niland’s American  Open dream ended prematurely last night as he was forced to retire in the second set.

The Limerick ace lost the first set to world number one Novak Djokovic to love as he looked really under the weather.

At 5-1 down in the second, Niland threw in the towel, later explaining that he was hampered by food poisoning. The match lasted just 44 minutes.

Brilliantly though, we have another Irishman in the draw this year; Louk Sorensen takes on sixth seed Robin Soderling at 4pm. Like last night, we’ll keep you updated throughout.

3. #RWC2011 Ireland’s World Cup hopefuls jetted off to New Zealand yesterday ahead of next week’s big kick off. Check out the images from their departure at Dublin airport yesterday.

Here’s the playlist you compiled for their trip south.

4. #DAEGU Olive Loughnane (Loughrea AC) finished 16th in the 20km walk in 1:34.02 at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in South Korea.

The Irish in action later tonight and tomorrow are: Alistair Cragg in the men’s 5000m round one at 2.05am,  Deirdre Ryan will compete in the women’s high-jump qualification rounds at 2.45am and Ciaran O’Lionaird (Leevale AC) will compete in the semi-final of the men’s 1500m.

5. #TRANSFER DEADLINE It’s that time of year again. The summer window slams shut at 11pm tonight with the likes of Arsene Wenger, Harry Redknapp and maybe Alex Ferguson poised for some last-minute shopping.

We’ll run a liveblog until the Sky Sports chopper is back at base and Andy Burton is in his jim-jams.

6. #EURO 2012 Ireland take on Slovakia at the Aviva Stadium on Friday night with preparations progressing for Trap’s squad at Malahide.

In the meantime, the FA confirmed last night that its attempts to have the fixture against Andorra played in Barcelona have failed.

On song: here’s your playlist for the Irish players’ trip to New Zealand
