The Morning Score: Wednesday

It was another memorable night in the Champions League, our cricketers are ‘gagged’ and the Masters build-up continues.

1. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Manchester United take on Chelsea in a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final first leg at Stamford Bridge this evening while Barcelona host Shaktar Donetsk. We’ll have all the action as it happens.

2. #MASTERS 2011 The pairings for tomorrow’s first round were announced yesterday. In what some might see as the pick of the paitings, however, Lee Westwood – fresh form his airplane scare – and Martin Kaymer will play together in a battle for 1 and 2, with Matt Kuchar making up a formidable three-ball.

We’ll have plenty of tips, betting, slideshows, whatever from today.

3. #RED HAND Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has dismissed talk that star defender Philip Jordan has retired, stating that it is merely online gossip.

4. #RETIREMENT Munster wing Ian Dowling yesterday announced his retirement from rugby. The Kilkenny native told his team-mates of his decision before squad training at CIT.

The 28-year-old has been forced to bow out because of a hip injury.

5. #CWC After they first voted to bar Ireland from the 2015 World Cup, the England cricket authorities yesterday attempted to gag Irish players from talking about their shameful decision, according to the Irish Independent.

6. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Despite more technical issues than a Fr Dougal Maguire funeral, we brought you last night’s Champions League action one minute at a time.

Spurs were hammered 4-0 in Madrid and Inter Milan were on the end of a shock 5-2 defeat to Schalke. But Dejan Stankovic did score this:
