Ireland kick off their Nations Cup bid against Wales in Dublin on a busy midweek for international football.

You can catch up with the game’s main talking points here, or simply stick with the pictorial option if that’s your preference. The braver men among you can recreate every last kick as you read back over our minute-by-minute coverage from last night.

2. #SIX NATIONS Declan Kidney will this afternoon name his the Ireland side to face France. Manager Paul McNaughton yesterday hinted that they may push back the announcement until Friday in order to give injured players every chance of inclusion.

But it became clear last night that they would in fact name the side as planned this afternoon. McNaughton said yesterday that Andrew Trimble looks ‘good to go’, Jamie Heaslip is a possibility while Stephen Ferris remains doubtful to feature at the Aviva.

3. #INTERNATIONALS Frank Lampard will skipper England against Denmark tonight. It will be his first time leading out the Three Lions.

On a busy night for football, we’ll run a minute-by-minute piece throughout.

4. #RYDER CUP European Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal will only have two wildcard picks – down from three – when he selects his team for the 2012 match.

5. #CRICKET Ireland suffered a three-wicket defeat to India in Dubai while their former team-mate Eoin Morgan endured a day to forget too.
