The Morning Score: Tuesday

Clubs’ action is just the ticket as IRFU change their mind, Cork lose another O hAilpín and a World Series win gets the party going.

1. TICKET REVOLT The IRFU last night performed a major U-turn in its ticketing policy for the four autumn international Tests, averting a concerted revolt by clubs across the country. Philip Browne, speaking on Morning Ireland earlier said ‘mistakes were made’ by the union.

2. #MELBOURNE CUP It was a famous victory for France as Americain out-lasted local favourite So You Think to win in Flemington a few hours ago.

3. #ROYALS Meath officials are likely to make an historic decision tomorrow night and install former Monaghan boss Seamus McEnaney as the county’s football manager in an unprecedented move outside the county.

4. #WORLD SERIES The party is still ongoing in San Francisco as Edgar Renteria’s three-run homer clinched the Giants’ first World Series crown since 1954 in a 3-1 win in Texas last night.

5. #IRELAND Head coach Declan Kidney will today name his side to face South Africa on Saturday at Croke Park. Brian O’Driscoll is set to be fit to captain the hosts.

6. #REBELS Aisake O hAilpín has returned to Australia with his brother Setanta and is unlikely to figure for Cork next season, Michael Moynihan reports in the Irish Examiner. The decision comes in the wake of his eldest brother Seán Óg’s controversial exit from Denis Walsh’s panel. Tipperary will also plan without veteran defender Declan Fanning who announced his retirement.

7. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has warned that he will not talk to the media in the future after the ‘Nani mess’. Tottenham welcome Inter Milan to White Hart Lane tonight.

8. #GUARD OF  HONOUR There was no ulterior motive behind Crossmaglen’s decision to give St Gall’s a guard of honour on Sunday, says Oisín McConville. Any suspicions that it was an attempt at mind games is wide of the mark, he tells the Irish Daily Mirror.

9. #RED TAPE Giovanni Trapattoni’s newest recruit, Aston Villa’s Ciaran Clark, could miss out on a debut against Norway next month because he hasn’t filed his registration yet, according to the Irish Daily Mail. Silly boy.
