The Morning Score: Thursday

The future’s bright for the Dubs, Ruby’s hurt and the transfer window swings open.

1. #GAA Dublin’s U-21s showed no mercy as they beat Wexford to the provincial title at Wexford Park last night, on a score of 1-18 to 0-11.

2. #THE OPEN Geddindehole! They’re about to get going – about now – at Sandwich as the battle commences for the Claret Jug. More importantly, of course, we’ll tee off our four-day liveblog later this morning.

3. #LE TOUR After Mark Cavendish's win yesterday (as predicted here 24 hours ago, you're welcome), what's the story today?

Well it's time for the climbers to shine. The stage is 211km long and takes the riders from Cugnaux to the summit finish at Luz-Ardiden. The route entails three monster climbs including the famous Col du Tourmalet.

4. #TRANSFER WINDOW Bad news for Andy Carroll's brain cells: Liverpool and Aston Villa agreed a fee for winger Stuart Downing last night. The England man will be expected to deliver the ball on the big striker's head.

Though there was no official word from Old Trafford, meanwhile, Manchester United have agreed a £190k-per-week deal with Wesley Sneijder according to the Mirror. We'll have a good look at it later.

5. #INJURY Ruby Walsh has been ruled out of action until around September.

The Kildare man crushed a vertebra and tore a ligament in his neck when Michael Hourigan’s Friendly Society, his mount in the Race Club At The Malton Handicap Hurdle, crashed through the first fence

6. #YOUTUBE If it's Thursday (it is Thursday right?) then it must be viral chart day.

Dallas Cowboys' QB Tony Romo sound-tracked his wedding video with Coldplay and he sent it to us. Don't you hate when couples do that?
