AFTER LAST NIGHT’S horror show at the back, The Sun have decided that Manchester United have entered the race for Bolton Wanderers centre-half Gary Cahill.
The 26-year-old, who scored the winner for the Trotters against Everton, was believed to be nearing a move to Chelsea but, as of yet, no personal terms have been agreed meaning Alex Ferguson could potentially put in his own offer.
United are suffering from a bit of an injury crisis with Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling and the Da Silvas twins all sidelined and Antonio Valencia operating at right-back.

Another target of Ferguson’s, Wesley Sneijder, has told Dutch magazine Voetbal International that he probably won’t be joining the Premier League in this transfer window as he intends to remain with Inter Milan for the time being.
“If I must give a percentage for it, I think I am 90 per cent certain I will stay (until at least the summer),” the former Real Madrid and Ajax player is quoted as saying.
The former Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder has looked sharp in recent weeks after a sluggish start to life with the Black Cats and Martin O’Neill is looking to tempt the 27-year-old into a move to Merseyside.
Chelsea are now lining up the €50m-rated Edison Cavani as a replacement for Didier Drogba, The Daily Mail also report.
The 6ft 2in Uruguayan has been tearing it up in Serie A the past five seasons, first with Palermo before moving to Napoli, and scouts from the West London club have been to watch the man known as ‘El Matador’.
They are also believed to be in talks with Marseille’s full-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
Carlos Tevez’s drawn-out departure from Manchester City finally looks like it will happen but which side of Milan will he choose is the question after Goal.com claimed that the Citizens outcast has held talks with both of the city’s Serie A clubs.
Elsewhere, Lille frontman Moussa Sow is on the radar of Arsene Wenger as the Arsenal manager eyes up back-up for Robin van Persie, QPR want James Collins and Nedum Onuoha and Aston Villa are favourites for Robbie Keane’s signature, as we reported earlier.
And finally, Manchester United winger Robbie Brady has extended his loan with Hull City until the end of the season. The Ireland U21 international has made 22 appearances for the Tigers so far this season.
