The Departures Lounge: your daily transfer gossip round-up

Carlo Ancelotti reckons there are bargains to be had at Chelsea. Having picked up one defender, the PSG boss could return with his piggy bank for another.

LIKE MOVING INTO a new home only to discover that your attic is packed full of ageing, unwanted goods, Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is feeling the need for a car boot sale-type clear-out.

Nicolas Anelka was shipped off to China, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba’s days at the club look numbered and now Alex will get reacquainted with former manager Carlo Ancelotti after the Brazilian agreed personal terms at Paris Saint-Germain.

The former PSV Eindhoven defender had been transfer-listed and PSG will pay around €5m for his services. Ancelotti has a purse full of spare change leftover and intends on offering it to the London club for out-of-form full-back and evil baby from The Simpsons look-a-like Jose Bosingwa.

Portuguese international Bosingwa is out of contract at the end of the season so there is a possibility of him leaving before next Tuesday’s deadline.

Chelsea themselves have cooled interest in Shakhtar Donetsk’s Willian. AVB has confirmed that while he likes the attacker, his price and problems with obtaining a work permit have put them off.

They are keen on Kevin De Bruyne, however, as we mentioned yesterday but he is looked at as one for the future.

Reports today maintain that the Pensioners will attempt to lure French teenager Paul Pogba away from Manchester United. The last time they did something similar, they ended up paying €14m to United for John Obi Mikel. Enough said.

On Carlos Tevez Watch (most people have lost to will to care at this point), the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian has told Andy Gray and Richard Keys that although he has been in negotiations with three clubs, the chances are that the wantaway striker will remain with Manchester City until the summer.

In other Premier League-based rumours, Spurs seem to be gearing up to approach Sao Paolo about their 20-year-old defender Bruno Uvini, Martin Jol likes cut of Carlos Sanchez‘s jib, West Brom are holding talks with Hungary international Szabolcs Huszti and Victor Moses has been offered the chance to move from one relegation endangered club to another.

And finally, in news just reaching us… West Ham have given Torres the chance to prove himself and Greek outfit Olympiakos have just snapped up Carroll.

That’s right, Panama defender Roman Torres will have a trial at the Npower Championship leaders while former Manchester United keeper Roy Carroll has made the move to Athens.

Sorry, we couldn’t resist.
