Teddy books recalled following 'printing error'

Between three and four thousand copies of Teddy McCarthy’s autobiography have been recalled following its launch this week.

THOUSANDS OF COPIES of Teddy McCarthy’s autobiography have been pulled by publishers due to a “printing error.”

Between three and four thousand copies of Teddy Boy, the dual All-Ireland winner’s story of life on and off the field, were recalled following its launch earlier this week.

A spokesperson for Irish Sports Publishing told TheScore.ie that a printing error led to a blank page towards the back of some copies, but that the book would be back in full nationwide supply by next week.

Corrected stock has already been issued to Eason’s and Waterstones in Cork.

Widely regarded as one of the GAA’s best-ever dual players, McCarthy remains the only man to win senior All-Ireland hurling and football titles in the same year following his famous double with Cork in 1990.

His book was launched by long-serving county secretary Frank Murphy at an event in Rochestown on Tuesday evening.
