SPANISH NEWSPAPER AS felt Steven Gerrard’s performance against Uruguay last night was so bad that they didn’t even rate him.
The England captain suffered through a difficult ninety minutes and was involved in the South American’s winning goal, his header inadvertently playing in Luis Suarez who hammered his strike beyond Joe Hart.
Though Gerrard’s performance was singled out for special attention by AS, the majority of his team-mates didn’t escape either. Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines, Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge were the only England players to be given two stars out of three.
