Steve Clarke not happy after Adrian Chiles insults Peter Odemwingie

The ITV presenter called the striker a ‘twat’ at a West Brom awards dinner.

WEST BROM MANAGER Steve Clarke has branded ITV presenter Adrian Chiles “ridiculous” after he insulted Peter Odemwingie while hosting a West Brom awards dinner last weekend.

During the award for ‘Tweet of the Year,’ Chiles said: “Oh, no, sorry, it’s ‘Twat of the year’, and the winner is Peter Odemwingie.”

Odemwingie has fallen out of favour at the club ever since he controversially failed to push through a move to QPR in January.

The player had been given permission to stay away from the awards dinner, however he is understood to be unhappy with Chiles’ remark.

Speaking to reporters, Clarke added: ”It was out of order. It was a ridiculous comment to make.

“I didn’t like it. I didn’t say anything about it at the time but I’m saying it now – it was a stupid comment. It was out of place – it was a West Bromwich Albion awards night. There was no place for that kind of comment.”
