Quinn withdraws from Irish squad, Madden placed on standby

The Yeovil Town player has been rewarded for his recent fine form.

STEPHEN QUINN HAS been withdrawn from the Ireland squad to face Wales, an FAI statement this evening confirmed.

The Hull player suffered a hamstring injury during the club’s tour of Germany, and has been ruled out of the upcoming game as a result.

Yeovil Town FC’s Paddy Madden has consequently been placed on standby.

The game will take place on August 14 in Cardiff, with Anthony Pilkington and Simon Cox already pulling out of the squad.
