VIDEO: Stephen McPhail scores a free-kick on his Shamrock Rovers debut

The Hoops ran out 5-1 winners against Glentoran last night.

IT ONLY TOOK eight minutes for Stephen McPhail to score the first goal of his Shamrock Rovers career.

The former Ireland international came off the bench during the second half of Rovers’ 5-1 win against Glentoran in the Setanta Sports Cup last night and made an instant impact.

After Kieran Marty Waters was brought down on the edge of the box, McPhail stepped up and clipped this measured free off the underside of the crossbar, giving Glens keeper Elliott Morris no chance.
