Stephanie Meadow becomes the second Irish woman to qualify for next month's US Women's Open

She’ll join Leona Maguire at the event in Trump National, New Jersey.

LEONA MAGUIRE WILL be joined by Stephanie Meadow at next month’s US Women’s Open after the latter secured qualification on Monday.

Meadow made it through qualification at Hidden Creek Golf Club in New Jersey to book her place in the major at the nearby Trump National.

The Northern Irishwoman finished third at the US Open in 2014, where she made her professional debut.

She currently sits in 131st place in this year’s LPGA rankings, but has missed the cut in five of her last seven events so far this year.

Maguire, who is the world’s number one ranked amateur,  missed the cut at the US Open last year.
