Star Wars themed baseball uniforms appear to be the next big thing

The force is strong in these minor league teams.

THEMED UNIFORMS IN baseball’s minor leagues are nothing new. In 2014 there have already been uniforms paying homage to Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and even selfies.

However, the latest trend has taken on an inter-galactic feel with three different teams in the minor leagues sporting Star Wars themed outfits in and around May 4th, otherwise known as International Star Wars Day.

The first of the three comes from the Kane County Cougars who are affiliated with the Chicago Cubs:

On May 4th itself, the Durham Bulls will sport these R2D2 inspired outfits:

And finally, next June the Milwaukee Brewers-affiliated Timber Rattlers will turn to the Dark Side with this Darth Vader uniform:

We’re not sure about you but we can’t see the trend taking off this side of the Atlantic.
