Spurs hoping to play Champions League matches at Wembley next season - reports

The north London club are in discussions with the FA.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR COULD be about to sign a deal with the FA which will see the north London club play their Champions League matches at Wembley next season, according to ESPN.

Spurs are in the process of building a new 61,080-seater stadium adjacent to White Hart Lane, and in order for the new stadium to be ready for the beginning of the 2018-19 season, Tottenham will need to dismantle the North Stand next season.

It has also been revealed that Daniel Levy is in discussions with the Football Association about moving to Wembley for the duration of the 2017-18 season.

Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal played at the old Wembley stadium for two seasons in the 1990s due to the restrictive capacity of Highbury.
