Plot: This 98 minute movie charts Brian Clough’s – played by Michael Sheen – disastrous spell as manager of Leeds United.
Clough, an outspoken tactician, replaces Don Revie (played by our very own Colm Meaney) as manager at Elland Road but his reputation counts for nothing as he endures a miserable time in Yorkshire.
Clough had been fierce critic of Leeds, labeling them as over-physical, before becoming their manager and tensions continue to run high during his short reign. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the film perfectly portrays the doom and gloom that had engulfed the country during a period of hardship in the 1970s.
Also featuring Johnny Giles, played by Irish actor Peter McDonald.
