Speed bowl: Canadian stuntwoman breaks world record on a toilet

Jolene Van Vugt got up to 46mph on the back of a jax in Sydney.

WE’RE ALWAYS KEEN to bring you the weird and wonderful of the sporting world and Jolene Van Vugt fits right into that bracket.

The former Canadian motorcross champion who performs as a stunt woman on MTV’s hit show Nitro Circus, has earned herself a Guinness world record for racing the fastest motorised toilet.

Yes, you heard that right. As the video below shows, it’s basically a loo with four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel.

Van Vugt recorded a speed of 46mph (75km/h) over 100 metres, beating the previous record by nearly 5mph. She also holds two others for various stunts on dirt bikes.

“I flew into Australia yesterday and came out here to jump straight on the toilet,” the 31-year-old said on BBC.co.uk.

That was so fun and I’m stoked to get the record.”
