Having initially turned down the chance to be interviewed for the job, Rodgers experienced a change of heart on Wednesday and was given permission by Swans chairman Huw Jenkins to speak to Liverpool’s owners.
The Reds were expected to confirm Rodgers as the new boss on Thursday.
It emerged that the Fenway Sports Group were reluctant to pay a release fee above the agreed £5million for Rodgers, but the problem has reportedly been sorted out.
Three of Rodgers’ backroom staff at Swansea will go with the Northern Irishman to Anfield.
According to Sky Sports, the discrepancy over compensation was the only factor blocking a move and Rodgers’ appointment is imminent.
