WHEN TRAINING GROUND free-kick routines work they’re pretty good, but when they go wrong, players just end up looking like bad actors.

Sligo were 2-0 up against Shamrock Rovers yesterday and on the cusp of a place in the FAI Cup final when they tried this in the closing minutes.

While Joey Ndo does his best to look confused and angry about their “botched” routine, Aaron Greene slips the ball to Kieran Djilali who tries to catch the wall off-guard.

Fortunately for the Hoops, Shane Robinson was alert to the danger and got out to block the shot. Unfortunately for the Hoops, it made no difference as Anthony Elding went on to score Sligo’s third a few minutes later.
