SIZING EUROPE MAY skip the King George VI Chase in order to stay in Ireland this Christmas.
The 2011 Champion Chaser has two wins from two this season and was expected to be one of the leading contenders in the Kempton showpiece on St Stephen’s Day.
“It’s not 100% just yet that he isn’t going to Kempton, but at this stage we are leaning towards Leopardstown,” trainer Henry de Bromhead told Press Association yesterday.
If he stays in Ireland, Sizing Europe’s two most obvious options are a competitive renewal of the three-mile Lexus Chase, where he could find himself up against Bob’s Worth and Tidal Bay, or the shorter Dial-A-Bet Chase over 2m1f.
