Penaud's pearl or an Irish effort? Pick your favourite try of the Six Nations weekend

We only found room for one of Jonny May’s scores.

THE TOTAL NUMBER of tries scored in the Championship dropped this weekend – in no small part to Italy running Wales closer than expected – but all six teams again managed to cross the whitewash.

As we did last week (when you voted Henry Slade’s first against Ireland as the cream of the crop) we’ve put all 15 tries through rigorous and not at all subjective testing to whittle them down to six of the best.

Choose your favourite from the chronological list below or let us know the glaring omission.

Jacob Stockdale (v Scotland)

The kid’s got wheels.

There’s much more analysis on that score here.

Keith Earls (v Scotland)

While Stockdale’s score was off straight off Joe Schmidt’s drawing board, this try was a testament to Joey Carbery’s ability to turn a loose pass into match-winning moment.

Josh Adams (v Italy)

A rare moment of clinical attacking from Wales against Italy as they went from one side to the other, and 50 metres upfield, within two slick phases.

Edoardo Padovani (v Wales)

Sergio Parisse’s reverse pass allowed Tommy Allan carve open a tiring Welsh defence to narrow the gap for the Azzurri.

Jonny May (v France)

Okay, so France’s back-field cover was non-existent many times during their heavy defeat to England, but the way Elliot Daly used this counter-attack to weave through gaps before teeing up a score for May to chase was a joy.

Damian Penaud (v England)

This is what they’re capable of.
