Shrewsbury sink Sheffield Wednesday with 97th-minute winner

Jack Grimmer’s strike secured the club a spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in 25 years.

A 97TH-MINUTE JACK Grimmer strike bagged Shrewsbury Town an unlikely win against Sheffield Wednesday and a spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time in 25 years.

The Owls led 2-1 going into the last five minutes before Shrewsbury roared back with Shaun Whalley’s equaliser followed by a Grimmer winner deep into stoppage time.

Wednesday had twice hit the front through Lewis McGugan’s double either side of Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro’s strike for the Shrews, who stunned their visitors in the closing minutes to clinch a famous win.
