Sheridan returns to England fold, with Wilkinson preferred to Flood

Andrew Sheridan has recovered from a shoulder injury to take his place in the England team to face Ireland on Saturday.

ENGLAND PROP ANDREW Sheridan will return to the side for the final World Cup warm-up against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

Sheridan missed both recent clashes with Wales, having undergone shoulder surgery in the summer, but he is recalled and will play alongside both Steve Thompson and Dan Cole.

Martin Johnson has named a new look midfield for the clash, with Jonny Wilkinson, Mike Tindall and Manu Tuilagi all selected. Wilkinson has regained the fly-half position from Toby Flood just two weeks before the start of the World Cup, while Tuilagi replaces Shontayne Hape.

There, are in total, six changes from the side that lost to Wales in Cardiff.

Wing Chris Ashton has overcome a foot injury to make his first start of the warm-up campaign, and he joins Ben Foden and Mark Cueto in the back three.

Tom Croft comes back in at blindside flanker, with Tom Wood moving to the bench and Nick Easter continuing at number eight.
