SHANE MCFAUL ANNOUNCED his Inchicore return last night as St Patrick’s Athletic continue to rebuild for next season.
After losing James Chambers and Sean O’Connor to Shamrock Rovers, manager Liam Buckley continued his midfield signing spree by bringing McFaul back for a second spell with the Saints.

The Dubliner, who won the FAI Cup under Buckley at Sporting Fingal, was with Pat’s in 2011 before moving to FC Haka in Finland’s top division.
McFaul becomes the club’s third new midfielder in the last 48 hours following the arrival of Killian Brennan from Shamrock Rovers and Conan Byrne from Shelbourne.
“Delighted to announce that I’ve signed for @stpatsfc for the 2013 season,” the 26-year-old tweeted last night. “So excited for [the] new season with a top class squad in place!”
A former Cherry Orchard youth, McFaul made his name when snapped up as a teenager by League One side Notts County.
After three seasons in England and a short stint in America, he returned to Ireland in 2007 to join UCD, and also had spells at Brighton and Hove Albion and Sporting Fingal before his first move to Pat’s in 2011.
St Pat’s also confirmed that winger Jake Kelly has re-signed. Yesterday the Saints announced that nine of last season’s squad, including PFAI Young Player of the Year Chris Forrester and Jake Carroll, will return next season.
