SHANE LOWRY RECORDED his best PGA Tour finish in more than a year – but it wasn’t quite enough to see him into the end-of-season FedEx Cup playoffs.
Lowry capped a brilliant week at the Wyndham Championship with a final round 67, finishing in a tie for seventh on 15-under par.

Henrik Stenson topped the leaderboard on -22, one shot clear of Ollie Schniederjans who matched the Swede stride for stride on the final day, both shooting six-under par 64.
It was only Lowry’s second top-10 finish of the year, and his best result stateside since finishing as runner-up at the US Open in June 2016.
The performance saw him rise 18 places in the FedEx Cup rankings to 127th, falling just outside the 125-man cut off for the playoffs.
